Ford begann 1911 in Manchester mit der Montage von US-Modellen. 1931 verlegte man die Fertigung in ein neues Werk am Themseufer bei Dagenham. Von 1933 bis 1939 war der Markenname der britischen Ford-Lkw „Fordson“, von 1939 bis 1957 „Fordson Thames“ und von 1957 bis 1965 "Ford Thames".
